As gun owners here in Minnesota know, we have a lot to be thankful for as we wrap up 2018 and prepare for the fight ahead of us in 2019.
It’s been a very long and hard-fought year but we had some great successes along the way!
Some of the highlights of the past year include:
>>> Defeating the Bloomberg/Latz/Pinto “Universal Gun Registration” bill which would have created a statewide gun registry, paving the way towards gun confiscation like gun owners face in New England.
>>> Defeating the anti-gunners’ attempts to pass “Red Flags” legislation that would annihilate due process rights for law abiding gun owners.
>>> Defeating Linda Slocum’s Gun Control MEGA Bill (HF3022), which would have destroyed gun rights in Minnesota entirely.
I’m thankful for the team we’ve assembled here at Minnesota Gun Rights who have the privilege and pleasure of FIGHTING on your behalf and on behalf of our kids and grandkids!
But mostly, I’m just thankful for you, the grassroots base that is Minnesota Gun Rights.
This isn’t some out-of-state run gun lobby that flies into St Paul once in a while and then leaves again.
Neither is it an organization that licks the boots of the politicians in St Paul.
My wife, two sons and I live right here in Northfield and are proud to raise our family here, just like all of you and it is my sincerest pleasure to FIGHT alongside you.
This organization was founded by Minnesotans, it’s run by Minnesotans, and it’s funded by Minnesotans just like you.
Every time we’ve asked you to call or email the legislature to support or oppose legislation, you rose to the call.
When we asked you to stand with us and rally for our gun rights at the capitol, over 1,000 gun owners turned out from all over the state in a howling ice storm and made their voices thunder!
And when we set about to run the largest and most expensive election program in our history this year, you guys funded that program 100%, giving us the ammo we needed to fight back!
This consistent support has allowed Minnesota Gun Rights to become the LARGEST, NASTIEST and MOST EFFECTIVE gun rights organizations in the state!
Now, as the kickoff for 2019 approaches, it’ll be time to FIGHT against an aggressive anti-gun Governor Tim Walz, House majority and Attorney General Keith Ellison, who will be working tirelessly to cram their agenda down gun owners’ throats.
It’s time to FIGHT and fight hard – for our kids, for our grandkids and so that the rights and freedoms that we hold most dear will never be stripped from the great state of Minnesota.
For today, thank you for standing alongside of us throughout 2018 and we look forwarding to fighting with you when the legislature convenes in January!
