Did Minneapolis Just BAN AR-15s?

On Thursday, the Minneapolis City Council voted to pass sweeping new anti-gun ordinances that include:

  •  BANNING commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms and standard-capacity magazines under the guise of “public safety.”
  • Imposing new “safe storage” mandates and criminalizing gun owners who fail to comply with government storage requirements.
  • Targeting so-called “ghost guns” while laying the groundwork for broader firearm registration and tracking schemes in the future.

And make no mistake: this is just the beginning.

But here’s the key thing every gun owner needs to understand…

Minnesota currently has a statewide firearm “pre-emption” law on the books that makes it ILLEGAL for cities like Minneapolis to pass local gun control ordinances that violate state law.

In fact, Minneapolis politicians have already admitted they cannot actually enforce these ordinances unless anti-gun politicians in St. Paul first succeed in tearing down Minnesota’s pre-emption protections.

That’s why Representative Dave Pinto (who we confronted in the capitol a few days ago) is pushing H.F. 3351 — legislation designed to REPEAL Minnesota’s pre-emption law and give anti-gun cities the green light to attack our Second Amendment rights one ordinance at a time.

And that’s exactly why Minnesota Gun Rights is staying LASER FOCUSED on defeating the massive gun control package moving through the legislature right now.

Because S.F. 4067 is the legislative VEHICLE Democrats will use to ram through sweeping gun control and eventually empower cities like Minneapolis to shred our gun rights from the local level up — IF they can get it passed.

We’re already seeing it happen in Minneapolis and St. Paul — and if Democrats get their way, more anti-gun cities will follow.

That’s why we MUST stop S.F. 4067 in the House before session ends. So CLICK HERE now!

But I need you to understand something else.

Minnesota Gun Rights is in the middle of an all-out fight to stop this agenda before session ends.

Our team is confronting anti-gun politicians directly in St. Paul, mobilizing gun owners across the state, blasting emergency email and text alerts, tracking fast-moving legislation in real time, suing Walz in Federal Court AND keeping public pressure on anti-gun politicians before these bills can quietly cross the finish line.

And frankly, these final days of session are stretching our resources to the limit.

And Democrats are counting on grassroots gun owners getting exhausted and tuning out before session ends.

We cannot let that happen.

So after you send your email opposing S.F. 4067, please make the most generous emergency contribution you can afford right now!

If you can give $250, $100, $50, or even $25 immediately, it will help us keep the pressure on anti-gun politicians during these critical final days of session.

Because if gun owners fail to stand and fight right now, Democrats are going to steamroll this agenda through the legislature and open the door for cities like Minneapolis to wage war on the Second Amendment for years to come.

LET’S FINISH THIS!
