The 2017 Legislative Session is Underway!

Moments ago the gavel fell on the start of the 2017 legislative session at the Capitol in St Paul as Minnesota Gun Rights staff looked on.

I have to admit, it was great not bumping into incumbent anti-gun legislators like former State Senator Rod Skoe, or former Senator Lyle Koenen – or the slew of anti-gun challengers who tried to wipe out pro-gun incumbents during the 2016 general election.

These FORMER state legislators are a testimony to the ability of organized and mobilized gun owners to fight for their rights.

And because of that activism, today — for the first time in years — BOTH houses of the Minnesota State Legislature boast pro-gun majorities!

That’s why Minnesota Gun Rights will be making an all-out push to obtain votes on Constitutional Carry and Stand-Your-Ground law this legislative session!

Now is our time!

It is not enough that pro-gun members of the legislature simply act pro-gun, they have a duty to VOTE pro-gun.

This year they’ll have their chance!

As you well know, Governor Dayton is no friend of gun owners.

But if you and I can plop Constitutional Carry on his desk, Governor Dayton will be forced to either sign and pass it into law, or veto it.

If he signs it, GOOD!

But if he vetoes, Constitutional Carry will be one of the biggest issues in state politics, setting gun owners up for yet another major victory in the 2018 elections!

We win either way.

Constitutional Carry legislation has been sweeping the nation as state after state is passing it into law.

Just last year alone, four states passed Constitutional Carry including West Virginia, Mississippi, Idaho and in Missouri!

If passed, Constitutional Carry would restore the right of Minnesota citizens to carry a firearm to protect themselves and their families –- WITHOUT going through a bunch of bureaucratic rigmarole or paying expensive fees.

I cannot promise you that we will pass all this legislation in 2017 – but I can promise you that we will be making a massive push to do so and will be holding accountable those legislators who stand in our path.

Everything is on the table!
You can be involved in this fight in the following ways:

1.)  Take action on MGR’s email alerts; we reply on your activism via calls, email, and Facebook messages to your legislators to advance pro-gun legislation.
2.)  “Like” Minnesota Gun Rights on Facebook; things happen very fast at the Capitol, and sometimes we do not have the time to get an email out.

So stay up-to-date by following our Facebook page where over 110,000 of your fellow Minnesotans are already assembled.

3.)  Tell all your friends to join our fight; for years anti-gunners have counted on their ability to restrict your gun rights in private, convincing themselves that “what happens in the Capitol, stays in the Capitol.”

By getting your friends and family involved, you help pull back the veil of secrecy and stop attacks on our rights.

4.)  Sign your Constitutional Carry petition calling on the legislature to PASS this vital legislation during the 2017 session.

Thank you for your commitment to fighting for our gun rights here in Minnesota.

I hope you’re ready for what promises to be a very exciting and aggressive session.

We will do our best to keep you informed along the way!

For Freedom,

Benjamin Dorr
Political Director

P.S. The 2017 legislative session kicked off just moments ago in St Paul.

With the earth-shattering results of the 2016 elections, I’m more hopeful than ever that you and I can finally pass Stand-Your-Ground and Constitutional Carry into law!

All options are on the table.

Make sure you are involved in the fight! “Like” us on Facebook and tell your family and friends to do the same!
