Help Me Pass Pro-gun Bills in St Paul in 2017!

I’m a little concerned.

My good friend, Minnesota Gun Rights Executive Director Chris Dorr, sent word to me that he hasn’t heard back from you regarding renewing your membership in Minnesota Gun Rights for 2017.

If you have already clicked on and renewed your 2017 Minnesota Gun Rights Membership — please accept my sincerest apologies for this reminder.

But if you have yet to renew your membership for 2017, please do so right away!

More on that below.

The truth is, Second Amendment supporters both here and across the nation sent the shock of the century through our national political system on Election Day 2016.

You know what happened nationally.

But here in Minnesota, the results were every bit as big.

Michael Bloomberg dumped over $600,000 of his multi-billion dollar fortune into our elections to try and seize back a House majority, expand his majority in the Senate and start RAMMING outrageous gun control schemes into law.

But thanks to your committed support, Minnesota Gun Rights battled back and proved that Bloomberg’s dollars are no match for committed pro-gun patriots like you when we stand together and fight.

I saw the power of Minnesota Gun Rights’ supporters firsthand in my race.

Earlier this year, I sought and received the endorsement of the grassroots (folks like you and me) to go to St Paul to restore our lost liberties.

And this summer I had to defend your endorsement against a twenty-year incumbent!

None of the so-called “smart set” gave me a chance.

But after pro-Second Amendment patriots like you sprung into action — and Minnesota Gun Rights got the word out about my opponent’s actions — I pulled off an upset no one said was possible.

And I wasn’t the only one.

The gun issue was THE decisive factor in several of the most jaw-dropping results across the state, including:

>>> Senator Rod Skoe’s (DFL-02) defeat in Senate District 2.

Senator Skoe voted to KILL Constitutional Carry on the State Senate floor, but somehow still managed to snooker weak-kneed “pro-gun” groups into endorsing him.

After Minnesota Gun Rights exposed his record, Second Amendment supporters saw through the insider deals, and elected 100% pro-gun challenger Paul Utke.

>>> Senator Lyle Koenen’s (DFL) defeat in Senate District 17.

After Minnesota Gun Rights exposed the fact that Senator Koenen voted to kill Constitutional Carry to thousands of Minnesota gun owners, he was defeated by pro-gun Republican challenger Andrew Lang.

In fact, in the twelve races Minnesota Gun Rights targeted with everything from U.S. Mail, to Internet ads, radio and door-to-door work, ten were won by Second Amendment supporters!

All-in-all, 83% sure ain’t bad!

I can’t tell you how proud I am to be joining our pro-gun majority, which now holds a sizeable 77-56 majority.

But like you, I understand these majorities come with a responsibility to deliver pro-gun reforms, including:

*** The Minnesota Stand-Your-Ground Bill, which would simply state that law-abiding Minnesota gun owners can defend themselves against attackers without fear of legal backlash from an anti-gun prosecutor or judge;

*** Constitutional Carry, which would restore the right of Minnesota citizens to carry a firearm to protect themselves and their families –- WITHOUT going through a bunch of bureaucratic rigmarole or paying expensive fees.

In other words, if you’re legally able to own it, you’re legally able to carry it.

PERIOD.

These reforms are on the march all over the country.

In fact, just in the past two years, Constitutional Carry has passed in Kansas, Maine, Idaho, West Virginia, Mississippi and Missouri.

In Maine, it passed with a Democrat State Senate. In Missouri and West Virginia, it passed with a Democrat Governor.

So there’s no reason why Constitutional Carry can’t soon be reality here.

The truth is, the status quo is unacceptable.

Minnesota’s rank as the 39th best state in the U.S. on the protection of gun rights is unacceptable.

And it’s why the 2017 legislative session could be the most critical one Second Amendment supporters have ever seen.

If we don’t slam the door on Michael Bloomberg now, while we have the chance, he’ll soon be back dumping millions into Minnesota to seize back TOTAL control of St. Paul
.

That’s why our work isn’t done.

In fact, it’s just beginning.

That’s why I’m counting on you to renew your membership in Minnesota Gun Rights right away in the amount of $500 (Lifetime Membership), $125 (Patriot Level), $75 (Freedom Level), or $35 (Liberty Level) TODAY!

The good news is, you’ve already proven the incredible impact your support makes.

Since Minnesota Gun Rights’ founding, not one gun control bill has been passed into law — even when “experts” thought gun control would be a “done deal.”

Then, in 2014, the unthinkable happened with a pro-gun majority in the Minnesota House.

Now, in 2016, you shocked the world again with a pro-gun majority in the Senate.

Now is the time to deliver.

There can be no excuses.

The good news is, Minnesota Gun Rights doesn’t care about making friends.

They don’t care about being invited to the swanky cocktail parties in St. Paul or getting nice articles written about them in the Star Tribune.

They care about one thing, and one thing only — that’s the protection of our Second Amendment freedoms.

That doesn’t make them the most popular group with the lobbyists and the political class.

But it makes them the most effective group in fighting for our gun rights, and that’s because of your generous support.

So won’t you please renew today with your most generous contribution of $500 (Lifetime Membership), $125 (Patriot Level), $75 (Freedom Level) or $35 (Liberty Level)?

I know that’s a lot to ask for.

Of course, as you’ll see, there’s no set “renewal fee.”

The amount you choose is up to you.

But I hope after seeing the incredible impact you’ve made, you’ll be more willing than ever to “dig deep.”

Debra, you’re a critical part of this winning team.

So please rush Minnesota Gun Rights your most generous Membership Renewal Contribution IMMEDIATELY!

Thanks so much for all you do!

Sincerely,

Calvin Bahr
Representative-Elect
House District 31B

P.S. If you’ve already clicked on and submitted your Minnesota Gun Rights Membership Renewal Contribution for 2017, thank you so much!

But if you haven’t yet done so, please know your renewed membership is critically important.

Minnesota Gun Rights members like you are KEY to protecting and advancing our Second Amendment rights here in Minnesota.

So please renew your membership with a generous contribution of $500 (Lifetime Membership), $125 (Patriot Level), $75 (Freedom Level) or $35 (Liberty Level) IMMEDIATELY!
