Happy Thanksgiving from Minnesota Gun Rights!

As gun owners here in Minnesota know, we have a lot to be thankful for as we wrap up 2016 and look ahead to what 2017 holds for us.

It’s been a long but incredibly productive year!

Some of the highlights of the past year include:

>>> Defeating the Bloomberg/Latz “Universal Gun Registration” bill which would have created a statewide gun registry, paving the way towards gun confiscation like gun owners face in New England.

>>> Defeating the anti-gunners’ attempts to pass “Gag-Act” legislation that would’ve outlawed the free speech rights of gun owners at election time.

>>> Booting anti-gun legislators like Rod Skoe, Lyle Koenen and Tom Hackbarth out of the State Legislature as payback for their anti-gun votes and attacks on gun rights organizations.

>>> Electing a pro-gun majority in both chambers of the State Legislature for the first time in our history, setting us up for a strong possibly of passing major pro-gun bills in 2017.

I’m thankful for the team we’ve assembled here at Minnesota Gun Rights who have the privilege and pleasure of fighting on your behalf, especially during the election season where we get to hold anti-gunners accountable for their actions!

But mostly, I’m just thankful for you, the grassroots base that is Minnesota Gun Rights.

This isn’t some out-of-state run gun lobby that flies into St Paul once in a while and then leaves again.

We may ask for a helping hand from other gun rights leaders across the country, but my wife and son (he’s new!) and I live right here in Northfield and are proud to raise our family here, just like all of you.

This organization was founded by Minnesotans, its run by Minnesotans, and it’s funded by Minnesotans just like you.

Every time we’ve asked you to call or email the legislature to support or oppose legislation, you rose to the call.

When we asked you to volunteer at all of the gun shows we attend every year, we’ve always had the help we needed.

And when we set about to run the largest and most expensive election program in our history this year, you guys funded that program 100%, giving us the ammo we needed to fight back!

This consistent support has allowed Minnesota Gun Rights to become the most effective gun rights organizations in the state!

Now, as the kickoff for 2017 approaches, it’ll be time to reap the reward of nearly 4 long years of fighting against an aggressive anti-gun majority who worked tirelessly cram their agenda down gun owners’ throats.

It’s time to go on offense and pass the substantive pro-gun reforms that so many thousands of Minnesotans deserve.

But we’ll have to be on guard to ensure that the anti-gun media, the vocal anti-gunners who remain along with the moderate elements in the legislature are not able to derail our push on Constitutional Carry and Stand-Your-Ground law.

For today, thank you for standing alongside of us throughout 2016 and we look forwarding to fighting for you when the legislature convenes next January!

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Minnesota Gun Rights!

2016 was an amazing year in the fight to defend the Second Amendment here in Minnesota as we stopped anti-gun legislation and booted out several anti-gun incumbents in the State Legislature!

This was all possible because of your support and activism – none of it would have happened without you.

Thank you, again, and get ready for 2017 — it’s going to be a wild ride!
