Don’t Let Bloomberg’s Cronies Shut MGR Down!

Any day now, I expect a loud knock at my door.

A slick anti-gun government lawyer — armed with trumped-up legal complaints from Michael Bloomberg-backed gun control organizations and their pals in Saint Paul — will be grinning from ear-to-ear as he tells me, “SEE YOU IN COURT!”

When Minnesota Gun Rights was first launched, I thought things like this didn’t happen in America.

But today, with the critical November elections rapidly approaching, I fear a well-timed frivolous legal assault could derail our election year programs before they’re fully able to get off the ground!

Sadly, it doesn’t matter that Minnesota Gun Rights plays by the rules.  It doesn’t matter that we don’t break laws (or even bend them) like so many other organizations.

More often than not, groups like ours are attacked for just being effective!

After halting over 30 gun control bills during the last session of the State Legislature, gun-grabbers like State Senators Ron Latz (D-Saint Louis Park) and Scott Jensen (R-Chaska) are FURIOUS.

With November right around the corner, they’re going to use EVERY tool at their disposal — including legal attacks — to try and DESTROY our 2018 election year programs.

That’s why, as you’ll see, I’ve linked to a brief three-question Minnesota Gun Rights Member Ballot for your review.

Won’t you please fill it out and submit it to me IMMEDIATELY?

The truth is, I simply must have your advice right away.

As it stands right now, I do not have the funds to fight back against the gun-grabbers’ legal SMEARS — and run a full election year program — at the same time.

So Minnesota Gun Rights will be a sitting duck unless I can fix this problem — FAST.

Sadly, this is par for the course for many pro-Second Amendment organizations.  Just last year, our sister organization in neighboring Iowa was hit with 47 pages of baseless charges by the Iowa General Assembly!

Why?

It was punishment for a Stand Your Ground bill they passed.

Thankfully, they won that case.  But it cost thousands in legal fees they would have much rather spent defending their Second Amendment freedoms.

Every few months, I hear a new story like this.  I know it’s only a matter of time until Minnesota Gun Rights is targeted.  This could easily be the year.

You see, Bloomberg-backed anti-gun activists believe they’ll have the momentum in November.

But they know we’re standing in the way with an election year program that’s proven to work.  In fact, Minnesota Gun Rights targeted nine races in 2016.  In eight of those, the pro-Second Amendment candidate won!

This is why the gun-grabbers want to shut us down so badly.

They know a well-timed legal threat could end up shutting our election year programs down before they get off the ground!

Sadly, this kind of nonsense just goes with the territory.

And worse, it’s all designed to get good folks like you and me to stop “bothering” our “poor politicians.”

That way they can hack away at our freedoms without ever having to worry about answering to the voters back home!

I’ve never, ever believed that’s the way politics should work — not for a second.  I still believe politicians work for us, not the other way around.  That’s why Minnesota Gun Rights was formed in the first place.

Without organizations like Minnesota Gun Rights to call politicians to the carpet for their records, I shudder to think how many MORE of our freedoms would have already been tossed by the wayside.

That’s why they want to shut us up so badly ahead of November 2018.

So please sign and submit your Member Ballot to me RIGHT AWAY and let me know what direction MGR should take!

The gun-grabbers know that the moment politicians stop fearing backlash from the folks back home during election years, they’ll be free to go on a rampage attacking our Second Amendment freedoms.

Believing the media line that the political winds will be blowing their way this election year, they’re going all-out to seize BOTH houses of the Minnesota State Legislature.

Should they succeed, you and I will have our hands full stopping the gun-grabbers’ radical agenda for Minnesota, including:

***  Mandatory waiting periods to buy a firearm forcing lawful purchasers of firearms wait 3-7 days just to take possession of the gun they legally bought.

I remember hearing the case of one young clerk who knew he was in danger working the night shift, so he legally bought a gun to protect himself.  Sadly, he never got a chance to use it because he was killed in a robbery during the waiting period;

***  STATEWIDE GUN REGISTRATION UNDER THE GUISE OF UNIVERSAL “BACKGROUND CHECKS.” The only way such a scheme can be enforced is if government keeps records of every gun and gun owner.  And as you and I know, registration is just the first step toward CONFISCATION;

***  A STATEWIDE SO-CALLED “ASSAULT WEAPONS” BAN.  It’s already been widely discussed among the gun-grabbers here in Minnesota.  Should anti-gun Democrats pickup seats in the State Legislature, it won’t be long until they go all-out to ban guns they call “assault weapons” — starting with semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and even handguns.

That’s why our 2018 election year program has never been more important.

In fact, until just a few days ago, my hope was to run the biggest program in Minnesota history leading up to the November elections — using mail, emails, Internet ads, and even hard-hitting newspaper, radio and TV ads if I could raise the money to pay for them.

But I’m afraid, as it stands right now, I won’t be able to fund both a full-scale legal defense AND this election year effort.

I know we’ve done nothing wrong.  But I can’t imagine just sitting back and hoping I don’t run into an anti-gun judge or prosecutor in the courtroom.

I have to prepare for the worst — or else, I could be a sitting duck.  So I need you to tell me what to do:

OPTION #1: Should I ignore the legal threats, hope nothing bad happens and go all-in with a full-scale election year program?

OPTION #2Should I just give in to the gun-grabbers, cut off all off Minnesota Gun Rights’ election year programs and put all my focus into these frivolous legal threats?  But if I choose this option, I know I’ll just be emboldening them to try it again and again in the future.

OPTION #3Or should I FIGHT BACK on all fronts and keep my legal and election year programs running at full blast?

I know what I want to do.  But I don’t have millions of dollars sitting around in the bank like BILLIONAIRE Michael Bloomberg and his pals.

Minnesota Gun Rights is run on a shoestring budget.  OPTION #3 just really isn’t an “option” without a massive and IMMEDIATE influx of funds from Minnesota Gun Rights’ members and supporters.

So if this is the option you choose, won’t you please agree to your most generous contribution of $200 TODAY?

I know that’s far more than you’ve given in the past.  But the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Of course, if $200 is just too much, won’t you please agree to $100, $50  or at least $20 IMMEDIATELY?

With the November elections right around the corner and critical races in full swing, I need to hear from you right away.

Please fill out your Minnesota Gun Rights Member Ballot and submit it to me IMMEDIATELY.

When you’re done, please forward this email to all of your pro-gun friends and family and make sure they get involved in this fight as well!

But please fill out your Member Ballot, as that’s more important.

For Freedom,

Ben Dorr
